Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is ActiGraftPRO® system indicated for?
ActiGraftPro® system is intended to be used at point-of-care for the safe and rapid preparation of a whole blood clot (WBC) from a small sample of a patient’s own peripheral blood. Under the supervision of a healthcare professional, the WBC produced by the ActiGraftPro® system is topically applied for the management of exuding cutaneous wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and mechanically or surgically-debrided wounds.
-
Can I cut my patients’ ActiGraftPRO whole blood clot?
Yes, the ActiGraftPro® whole blood clot can be cut to size with sterile scissors.
-
How much of the wound needs to be covered by ActiGraftPRO?
A minimum of 50% of the wound needs to be covered for a clinical response.
-
What secondary dressings can I use with ActiGraftPRO?
The choice of secondary dressing depends on the healthcare provider’s preference for exudate management. While a foam is included with the ActiGraftPro system, additional advanced wound management (AWM) dressings can be utilized to address specific local factors.
-
What is the frequency of treatment?
In the clinical studies performed, ActiGraftPro was replaced every seven days, or on a weekly basis. This schedule facilitates the replenishment of active viable cells and extracellular matrix (ECM) within the wound.
-
How often should I change the secondary dressing?
Given ActiGraftPro’s biological activity, it’s essential to monitor exudate levels closely and change the secondary dressing as necessary to avoid maceration or the buildup of excess exudate.
